Using behavioral data from Sitecore in SFMC

Version:

This topic describes how you can use behavioral and contact data captured in Sitecore’s Experience Database within Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC).

Sitecore’s Experience Database collects a large amount of behavioral data relating to how your users interact with your websites and other channels. Once it's been collected, that data can be leveraged to influence future interactions with those users.

The integration between Sitecore and SFMC is based on making lists and segments created in Sitecore available in SFMC as data extensions.

For more information on creating lists in Sitecore, see:

Once the Sitecore data is available in SFMC, you can use it using these tools:

  • Journey Builder
  • Email Studio
  • Content Builder

You can use Journey Builder to:

  • Enroll a contact in a Journey Builder journey.
  • Influence which path a contact takes within a journey.
  • Remove a contact from a journey.
Note

For more information, see the Salesforce documentation for Journey Builder.

You can use Email Studio to:

  • Define recipient lists.
  • Define suppression lists.
  • Drive token personalization within an email.
Note

For more information, see the Salesforce Email Studio documentation.

Content builder uses a concept of Dynamic Content Blocks. These Dynamic Content Blocks allow a marketer to change which content is going to be displayed to a user based on a set of rules. You use these rules to leverage the list and segment information made available via Data Extensions.

For more information, see the Salesforce Content Builder documentation.
