# Edit a page in the Horizon page editor

The Horizon page editor is a WYSIWYG editor where you can make changes to your website content directly on the page. You can edit all the items that are visible on the page – text, graphics, logos, links, and so on.

In the Horizon editor, you edit the latest publishable version of the page. (To edit an earlier version of the page, or a version that is [not currently publishable](https://doc.sitecore.com/xp/en/users/100/sitecore-experience-platform/set-up-publishing-restrictions-for-an-item.html "Set up publishing restrictions for an item"), use the Experience Editor.) Your changes can affect all of the following:

- Layout for the current version of the page
- Shared fields that are shared by all versions in all languages
- Unversioned fields that are shared by all versions in the same language
- Versioned fields that apply only to the current version of the item in the current language

> When you edit a field in the Horizon editor, be aware that if the field contains associated content, you also change the content on other pages that use the same content.

To edit a page in the Horizon page editor:

1. [Open the page](https://doc.sitecore.com/xp/en/users/100/sitecore-experience-platform/customize-the-view-in-horizon.html "Customize the view in Horizon") that you want to edit.

    > [!note]
    > Horizon supports concurrent editing, and items are not locked during editing. The auto-save feature ensures that changes are saved quickly and often.

2. To switch to a different language version, in the global toolbar, click the language selector. Then, in the drop-down menu, click the relevant language.

    ![The language selector](https://doc.sitecore.com/api/markdown-image/xp/en/users/100/sitecore-experience-platform/images/language_selector.png)

If the item does not exist in the selected language, the item is displayed with blank fields. If you edit a field, a new language version of the item is created.

3. Click the field that you want to edit, and then enter your content. Depending on which type of field you edit, you have different options. There are the following field types:
    - *Text field* (single-line or multi-line): You can only enter text. The field automatically expands to fit the text you enter.
    - [*Rich text field*](https://doc.sitecore.com/xp/en/users/100/sitecore-experience-platform/edit-a-rich-text-field-in-horizon.html "Edit a rich text field in Horizon"): You can edit the text in the field and apply formatting to the text using the formatting tools that appear in the right-hand pane.
    - [*Image field*](https://doc.sitecore.com/xp/en/users/100/sitecore-experience-platform/edit-an-image-field-in-the-page-editor.html "Edit an image field in the page editor"): You can insert various types of images.
4. To see what the page looks like on a different device, in the toolbar, click the device switcher drop-down ![The Device switcher icon](https://doc.sitecore.com/api/markdown-image/xp/en/users/100/sitecore-experience-platform/images/Device_switcher_100.png) and then click a device type.

    > [!note]
    > Changes that you make in any device view affect all devices. Depending on the responsive behavior implemented on your site, some renderings might move, appear, or disappear on different devices.
