What's new in Managed Cloud
The Managed Cloud PaaS 2.0 release is available for XP version 10.3.1 and later, and includes some significant improvements in security and performance. This includes the implementation of Microsoft’s Hub-spoke Network Architecture, upgraded App Services, and Azure SQL components.
Topologies and tiers
The revised topology and tiers available for Managed Cloud PaaS 2.0 depend on whether you are running Managed Cloud Standard or Managed Cloud Premium:
Improved platform provisioning services
Some of the recent provisioning improvements include the ability for you to choose between static or dynamically assigned IP addresses. You also have the option to include an Azure DNS Private Resolver. This is particularly useful for customers who implement a Site-to-Site VPN where DNS resolution is streamlined with static IPs and the inclusion of the Azure DNS Private Resolver services.
You will be asked to provide a preferred private IP network range for each hub and spoke during the Managed Cloud provisioning process. These private IP network ranges should not overlap with the your internal private IP network ranges. This is especially important if you require a site-to-site VPN. We recommend reading the following Knowledge Base article to help you determine a suitable Private IP network range:
Add-On security services
In addition to the revised Sitecore Managed Cloud topologies and tiers, Sitecore is also pleased to announce the availability of both Azure Defender for Cloud and Azure DDoS IP Protection when combined with PaaS 2.0 for Managed Cloud Standard or Managed Cloud Premium.
