Configure serialization

You configure serialization in the App_Config\Sitecore\CMS.Core\Sitecore.Serialization.config file. The file contains descriptions of all setting. This topic only points out the most important and general settings. The default serialization format and The YAML serialization format describe configuration settings specific for each format:

Setting	Description
SerializationType	Specifies the format of the serialized text files. The default is `default`. You specify `YAML` to use YAML format serialization.
SerializationFolder	Specifies the root of the folder structure of the serialization text files. The default is `$(dataFolder)/serialization`.
