Disable CDN support for the Sitecore Media Library

Abstract

Disable and remove the Content Delivery Network (CDN) support for the Sitecore Media Library.

This topic describes how to disable and remove the Microsoft Azure® Content Delivery Network (CDN) support for the Sitecore Media Library.

To disable the CDN support for the Sitecore Media Library:

  1. Go to the Sitecore Deployed folder, App_Config\Include\CDN, and find the CDN.Config patch configuration file.

  2. Remove the file or change the extension to something else, for example: CDN.config.example or CDN.config.disabled

After you have removed the file or changed the file extension, the URLs generated by the options mentioned in Developer Considerations for the Sitecore Media Library CDN support, in the section: Get a CDN-enabled Media Item URL, will not include the CDN URL.

To remove the CDN completely and disable Sitecore configurations, you must also remove the CDN profile and endpoint which are created during the set up. If you do not, then you will be charged by the CDN provider for CDN endpoint usage.

Work through the following step to delete the Azure CDN profile:

  1. Log in to the Azure portal.

  2. Navigate to the CDN profile you want to delete.

  3. Click Delete link.

  4. Click Yes, if you want to delete the profile and all its endpoints.
