The security roles in Sitecore Forms

Security roles give Sitecore users different access rights to different areas of a site. To configure the access that a user has to the features in Sitecore Forms, you can assign the necessary access rights using the security roles described in this topic.

Sitecore Forms comes with predefined roles that you can use to manage user authorization on items and functionality.

Note

Administrators and developers who want to work with Sitecore Forms in the Content Editor must have administrator rights in Sitecore to, for example, publish a form on a webpage or add a custom form element. There is a predefined administrator role in Sitecore that has access to Sitecore\admin.

Role

Description

Forms Editor

Gives users access to the Sitecore Forms, Campaign Creator, and Marketing Control Panel applications from the Sitecore Launchpad. The user can execute forms editing operations such as Edit Form, Rename Form, Move Form, and Delete Form.

The Forms Editor role is a member of the following roles:

  • Sitecore Client Authoring role

  • Analytics Maintaining role

Forms Data Administrator

Gives users access to the Sitecore Forms application from the Launchpad. The user can export form data and delete submitted form data from the Forms Dashboard. The user can view forms, but is not allowed to edit or save.

The Forms Data Administrator role is a member of the following role:

  • Sitecore Client Authoring role

Forms Publisher

Gives users access to the Sitecore Forms application from the Launchpad. The user can publish forms from the Forms Dashboard. The user can view forms, but is not allowed to edit or save.

The Forms Publisher role is a member of the following role:

  • Sitecore Client Authoring role
