Connect to SQL databases

When the installation is finished, modify the ConnectionStrings.config files to connect the new Sitecore XP instance to the databases from the previous Sitecore XP version that you upgraded in the previous chapter.

You must configure each server role and Sitecore Identity server appropriately.

Complete databases cleanup

If you have a list of modified items in the UpdateApp logs (as described in this section), you can now review and remove them from the databases, and re-apply the modifications that you still need.

After cleanup, Sitecore will function using default items from resource files, only further item modifications will be stored in databases.
