The XM databases
The following table lists the databases that you must upgrade or deploy for the XM topology or for the XM part of the XP topology. The table also lists the scripts that you must run against the databases:

* If you are not using the security database and the connection strings for the core and security databases are the same, you must apply script H to the core database.
If you have extracted the security database from the core database and the connection strings for core and security databases are different, you must apply script H only to the security database.

** All the new databases are installed when you install the new instance of Sitecore XP.
The ExperienceForms connection string is required on CD and CM servers.
The scripts listed in the table must be run against the databases in the order that they are listed in the table.

The Sessions database
If you are using an out-of-process session state provider, you must:
- SQL Server: Use the new clean Sessions database from the Sitecore XP installation.
- Redis cache: Use the Redis Cache service Console to clean the cache.
- Mongo: Switch to the SQL Server or Redis provider.
