SitecoreCommerce Connect is a standardized framework that provides a common integration point to use external commerce systems with the Dynamics AX®.
Sitecore Commerce 8.1 powered by Microsoft Dynamics® uses the Commerce Connect framework to integrate the reference storefront and Dynamics AX®. Commerce Connect has providers for basic transaction functionality, and a framework that provides a mechanism for extending or replacing existing Commerce Connect processors with custom processors to implement specific business requirements.
