Prepare a standalone Sitecore 8.2 on-premise environment for Managed Cloud xDB

For developing and demonstrating, you can configure a standalone instance of Sitecore to use with Managed Cloud xDB. You must use dedicated content delivery (CD) and content management (CM) instances in your production environment.

Note

This procedure describes how to prepare a standalone Sitecore environment. To prepare a scaled on-premise Sitecore environment, or to prepare a Sitecore 9.0 on-premise environment for Managed Cloud xDB, see the Sitecore documentation.

To use a Sitecore standalone instance with Managed Cloud xDB:

  1. Remove or disable the following configuration files from your local installation by adding .disabled to the end of the file name.

To use a remote Reporting Service server, you must go to Configure a content management server to use a remote Reporting Service server, and enable or disable your configuration files according to the table in the Configure Path Analyzer section.
