Edit the EXM default settings
When you first open the Email Experience Manager, a default manager root is created in the sitecore/Content/Email folder. The manager root can be located anywhere in the content tree but commonly there is a manager root for each tenant or site. You could also create a manager root for each market (for example, one for the Americas, one for APAC, and one for EMEA).
If your EXM instance has more than one manager root, changes to the default settings apply only to the currently selected manager root. Use the Change manager root drop-down list in the top-left corner of the dashboard to change the manager root.

Edit the default settings in EXM
To edit the default settings in EXM:

On the EXM Dashboard, click the Change manager root drop-down list and select the manager root that you want to define default settings for.

Click Default settings.

In the Default Settings dialog box, edit the default settings. The Base URL and From email fields are required.
NoteIf you are using EXM Delivery Cloud, you must add the domain to the list of domains before you can save the settings.

Click OK to save the changes.
Edit EXM default settings in the Content Editor
To edit EXM default settings in the Content Editor:

On the Sitecore Launchpad, click Content Editor.

In the Content Editor, expand the Content item and select the manager root item that you want to edit.

On the Content tab, edit the default settings:

In the Message Generation section, edit the Base URL field (required) or, if necessary, the Preview base URL field.

In the Default Message Header section, edit the From Name, From Address, or the Reply To field as required. The From Address field is mandatory.
