Export a site collection

Packaging site collections with the SXA Site Collection Exporter is the easiest way to move site collections between environments. With the Site Collection Exporter, you can quickly create a package that contains:

• The site collection content – /sitecore/content/Group/Site Collection
• The site collection templates – /sitecore/templates/Project/Group/Site Collection
• The site collection themes – /sitecore/media library/Themes/Group/Site Collection
• The site collection media library items – /sitecore/media library/Project/Group/Site Collection

To export a site collection:

1. In the Content Editor, right-click the site collection item, click Scripts, and click Quick Download Site Collection as Package.
2. In the Download site collection as a package dialog box, enter the metadata and click OK.
3. When the export has finished, click Download.
