Commerce Catalog Category page

Version: 10.3

The Storefront site template, by default, includes a Commerce Catalog Category page.

Components of the Catalog Category page.

The Commerce Catalog Category page contains the following renderings:

  1. Subcategory Navigation rendering (Experience Editor/Toolbox/Commerce Catalog).

  2. Aggregated Facet Filter rendering (Experience Editor/Toolbox/Search) with the Commerce rendering variant that contains the individual facets (brand, manufacturer, type of goods).

  3. Sort Results rendering (Experience Editor/Toolbox/Search).

  4. Search Box rendering (Experience Editor/Toolbox/Search).

    Note

The global Search box is part of the Default Commerce Header partial design and is used to search the entire storefront site whereas the Search box on the Default Commerce Category Page Content partial design is used to search within the category.

  5. Results Count rendering (Experience Editor/Toolbox/Search).

  6. Commerce Search Results rendering (Experience Editor/Toolbox/Commerce Catalog).

    Note

This is a versatile rendering that can have many different uses. With the Storefront site template, this rendering is used, by default, on the category page, the related products page, the promoted products page (on the home page), as well as on the search results page.

  7. Load More rendering (Experience Editor/Toolbox/Search).

  8. Facet Summary rendering (Experience Editor/Toolbox/Search). This rendering is hidden on the live storefront site unless a shopper selects a filter.

The following is the default Commerce Catalog Category page displayed on the live storefront.

Category page on the live storefront.

For all the individual renderings on the page to be considered together as one result when searched, all of the renderings must use the same search results signature so that they are bound together. The Sitecore site template Home page, for example, has two separate and distinct sections with separate search signatures - On Sale Televisions and Mira Laptops. The search scope defines which products are included in the search.
