Add a QR code image

QR barcodes can be read quickly by for example smartphones and tablets and are used to store data, including downloadable content. You can publish QR codes on business cards, brochures, or product packaging to link to particular pages of your website (for example: coupons, social media, contact information, or product details).

In InDesign Connector, you can add a QR code image to a snippet. A snippet is a group of InDesign items that is saved in Sitecore and can contain text frames, images, rectangles, and so on. The QR code image is rendered dynamically based on the value entered in Sitecore. For additional information, ask your administrator.

In the following example, the QR code image is rendered based on the value: http://www.sitecore.net. If anyone scans the QR code, this automatically loads the URL http://www.sitecore.net.

To add a QR code image:

  1. In the Content panel, select the QR field that you want to use, and then drag it to the page.

  2. Position and size the image.

  3. If your document is part of a project in Sitecore and you want to add the QR image to this project, drag it from the page to a snippet in the Project panel.

Note

The QR field automatically creates a QR code image based on the value set in Sitecore. The QR code can be treated as any image in InDesign.
