Before you start sending data

A common development task you'll perform is to send data to Sitecore CDP. Before you start sending data, you must identify the type of API you want to use and ensure you model the data correctly for that API, and for the data model version of your organization's tenant, 2.1 data model or 2.0 data model.

Sitecore APIs are flexible by design. To ensure that the data is viewable in the guest profile and can be used in batch segmentation and in audience exports, you must follow the data model schema for the specific API.
