The Core index contains a configurable subset of the content and media items in the Core database.

Support for Azure Search was deprecated in Sitecore 10.0 and 10.1, and is removed in Sitecore 10.2.

The Core index has its place in the Sitecore reference structure. It can be referenced by other roles, and it can also reference other roles.

The Core index is referenced by the following roles:

Assuming default behavior, the Core index does not handle personal data.
