Manually update cache and indexing

Current version: 10.2

When you use the Sitecore Business Tools to add new items or product information, the SXA Storefront typically displays the changes within a few minutes (based on scheduled cache refresh or re-indexing process, depending on the changes).

You can manually refresh the cache and indexing, for example if you do not want to wait, or if you do not see your changes displayed on the Storefront.

To update cache and index information:

  1. On the Sitecore Launchpad, click Content Editor.

  2. On the Commerce tab, click Refresh Commerce Cache.

  3. Optionally, to check that the product item is located in the correct location of the catalog and/or categories where you created it, go to /sitecore/Commerce/Catalog Management/Catalogs, and locate the product item you created.

For example, in the following location, /sitecore/Commerce/Catalog Management/Catalogs/Habitat_Master/Departments/Home Theatre/Popcorn, the catalog is Habitat_Master, the category is Departments, the subcategory is Home Theatre, and the product item you created is Popcorn.

  4. Return to the Sitecore Launchpad, and click Control Panel.

  5. In the Indexing section, click Indexing Manager.

  6. In the Rebuild search index section, select the sitecore_web_index check box, and then click Rebuild

    Note

The size of the catalog determines the length of time required to rebuild the search index.

  7. After the search index has finished rebuilding, click Close.

  8. Open your storefront, and search or navigate to the product item you created to confirm that the item is on the storefront.
