Scaling and configuring the Core database

You have the following options for configuring and scaling the Core database:

You can configure the Core database to use SQL Server Always On, which brings the benefits of disaster recovery, data loss protection, and failover functionality.
You can disable the Security database on Content Delivery roles to keep your installation as small scale as possible.

Note

Replication of the Core database is not officially supported. Refer to the Support for SQL Server scaling features knowledge base article for information about supported SQL scaling features.
