Install the Action plugin for Marketing Automation

Abstract

How to install the Action plugin for Marketing Automation in Sitecore to enable data synchronization from within a Marketing Automation Plan.

Installing the Action plugin for Marketing Automation (AMA) on your xConnect Marketing Automation Service enables you to use the Activity for Marketing Automation component of the Data Exchange Framework (DEF) to trigger data synchronization from within a Marketing Automation plan.

To install the Action plugin for Marketing Automation, you must have:

  • Sitecore 10.2.

  • Data Exchange Framework (DEF) 7.0.0. This installation includes the Activity for Marketing Automation component.

  • DEF Tenant Web Service 7.0.0, deployed as a separate IIS site.

Note

You can confirm that Activity for MA is installed by opening the Content Editor and locating the item /sitecore/system/Settings/Analytics/Marketing Automation/Activity Types/Trigger DEF Sync Process.

To install the Action Plugin for MA on your xConnect Marketing Automation Service:

  1. Download the DEF Action Plugin for Marketing Automation 7.0 package. Deploy the package on top of the xConnect Marketing Automation Service.

  2. Verify that the App_Data\Config\sitecore\MarketingAutomation folder contains the configuration file. Verify that the binaries folder of your Marketing Automation Service contains all the .dlls from the package.

    Note

    By default, the binaries folder is the root folder of the installation.

  3. If you are installing the XP1 scaled topology, you must copy the DEF Action Plugin for Marketing Automation package to the <SC marketingAutomation>\AppData\jobs\continuous\AutomationEngine folder.
