Resolve Google Maps error in Experience Explorer

In the Experience Editor, the Explore mode Viewer panel can display a Google Map to show the visitor’s location. However, when the Google Maps API changes, the Viewer panel displays an error message instead of the Google Map.

To resolve a Google Maps error:

  1. In a browser, open the following page:

  2. Follow the instructions on the page to get an API key.

  3. In the Content Editor, on the /sitecore/system/Modules/Experience Explorer/Map Settings/Google item, enter the key in the Api Key field.

  4. Clear the browser cache.


    Refer to the help for your browser if you do not know how to clear the cache.

The map now displays correctly.
