Suppress identity profiling
If a guest requests that Sitecore CDP no longer tracks their identity and creates a guest profile, this can be facilitated through the use of Sitecore CDP APIs. In Sitecore CDP, identity profiling is the act of using a guest's Personally Identifiable Information (PII) as a means to create a searchable guest profile that can potentially be used in segments and decisions.
To ensure that a guest's data is not used to create a guest profile, the guest must be deleted from Sitecore CDP. The following is a scenario in which a guest exercises their right to not have their identity profiled.
For example, a guest requests that their personal data not be used to create a guest profile.
To exercise the guest's right to not have their identity profiled:
-
Follow the guest delete procedure to delete a guest.
After you complete the guest delete procedure using the Batch API, the guest is deleted from Sitecore CDP. You can no longer locate the guest by searching for their guest profile. As the data controller, you must ensure that none of your systems send any of the deleted guest's personal data to Sitecore CDP.
