Asset media types

Sitecore Content Hub generically refers to digital asset entities, such as images, videos, or files, as assets. Content Hub supports several asset media types.

You can perform most default operations (such as create public link, delete, or create draft) on all asset types. For specific asset types, such as video or archive, additional operations are available.

The following table lists the asset media types in Content Hub and their supported media formats.

Composite asset containing several files, such as 3D assets. To display the asset files, you need to trigger the extract archive.

Audio

Audio file.

Document

Document file.

doc, docx, eml, msg, pdf, ppt, pptx, rtf, txt, xls, xlsx

Image

Image file, such as a photo or animated GIF.

bmp, bpg, cr, cr2, crw, dng, dpx, dr, erf, gif, jfif, jp2, jpeg, jpg, jxr, nef, orf, raf, raw, srw, tga, webp

Vector

Image built by mathematical formulas that define points on a grid.

ai, eps , psd, psb, svg, tif, tiff, png

Note

PNG files are categorized as vectors because of the processing flow applied to each asset type. Since PNG files are typically transparent images, they are handled by the vector processing flow to ensure that transparency is preserved.

Video

Video file.

avi, flv, mp4, m4v, mov, mpeg, mpg, webm, wmv
