Add a media file to a page

With the page builder, you can insert a media file in a page using the following fields: Image, File, Link, and Rich Text.

When inserting a media item on a page using an Image field, the following format are supported: .jpeg, .jpg, .gif, .png, .svg, .bmp, .ico, .webp.

The File, Link, and Rich Text field also support the following format: .pdf, .doc and .docx.

To add a media file to a webpage:

  1. In the page builder Editor mode, in the Site tree, click the page you want to add a table to.

  2. On the Components tab, click on a component that has an Image, File, Link or Rich Text field and drag it onto the canvas of the webpage.

  3. Click in the component to open the right-hand configuration panel, then click Content > Media > Search .

  4. In the Add media dialog, click on the file you want to insert in the field.

    Alternatively, click Upload media to upload a new media file to your Media library.

  5. In some specific cases, you can set embargo dates on the selected item. Keep in mind that when the embargo date is reached, the item becomes unavailable, while the component remains on the page.

  6. Click Add Selected.

  7. Perform additional formatting of the file in the right-hand configuration panel if needed.

The configuration settings available for media files are:

  • Change image text alternative

  • Toggle caption on and enter an image caption below the media file.

  • Inline, centered, or side image placement

  • Add a link URL to the image, and set it up to open in a new page.
