Resolving conflicts in multiuser scenarios
Multiple users can work simultaneously in the Customer Engagement Console (CEC). Conflicts can arise when different users save or publish a variation at the same time.
If there are conflicts in multiuser scenarios, the CEC offers the following two solutions:
-
To ignore and overwrite the changes made by your colleague, you can click Overwrite.
-
To lose your changes and keep the published state of the variation, you can click Revert.
The following scenarios describe situations when multiuser conflicts can arise.
Scenario 1
User A adds a rule to a widget variation. At the same time User B adds a rule to the same widget variation and publishes the variation.
When User A clicks Publish, they get an error message describing the conflict:
One of your colleagues has published a new version of this variation, which conflicts with your changes. Please click Revert to discard your changes and get the latest version or click overwrite to keep your changes.
Scenario 2
A warning is triggered when your saved, unpublished changes in the widget are in conflict with the published version.
For example, after you save changes to a widget, another user makes changes to the same widget and publishes it before you. When you go to publish, your changes are in conflict with the recently published version of the other user.
When you hover over the warning icon , the following message displays:
It has been edited by another user, but you can still overwrite it.
