Create a landing page

Abstract

How to create a landing page in Sitecore Send.

A landing page is a web page that someone lands on after clicking an online marketing call-to-action. The landing page has marketing campaign purposes. Usually, it has a subscription form, where visitors can enter information about themselves, which converts them into leads and email marketing recipients.

You can either use the default landing page template or you can design your own using the landing page designer. The designer helps you design landing pages for your email marketing campaigns. The designer makes sure your landing pages are compatible with most popular web browsers. You can find the designer during the landing page creation process, by clicking Design in the left pane. Then, to get started designing, click Start designing. This takes you to the designer where you can choose between preexisting templates or create your own design from scratch.

To create a landing page:

  1. On the Sitecore Send dashboard, hover your mouse over the Growth Tools in the top navigation bar, and select Landing Pages from the drop-down menu. Then click New, and select Landing Page from the drop-down menu.

  2. In the Set basic settings window, define the following. When you are finished, click Next.

    • Name - the name of your landing page, for internal use only. Use something memorable and convenient.

    • Page title - the landing page title that your visitors see in their browser.

    • Meta description - enter a description of your landing page.

    • Favicon - click Upload to select an image to appear at the top of the web browser that the landing page is viewed in.

  3. To change the design of your landing page in the landing page designer, click Go to editor. When you have finished editing, close the designer.

  4. (Optional) To share your landing page on social media, in the left pane of the Settings page, click Share on social media. Here, you can configure the landing page to be shared on Facebook and Twitter. For both options, you must fill out:

    • Headline - the headline that appears when you share the post on the social media platform.

    • Description - the description of the post.

    • Image - click Upload to select an image to appear in the post.

  5. (Optional) To enable conversion tracking for your landing page, in the left pane, click Track your conversions. You have the following options for tracking:

    • To use the built-in conversion tracking, set Track Conversions to Yes. You must now choose if you want to track conversions When someone submits a form or When someone clicks a button.

    • To use Google Analytics, set Track with Google Analytics to Yes. This requires Google Analytics to be configured for your site.

    • To use Facebook Pixel Code, set Track with Facebook Pixel to Yes. This requires Facebook Pixel Code to be configured for your site.

  6. (Optional) To make a pop-up appear on the landing page that informs users about cookies, under Track your conversions, find Cookie Consent, and set Notify visitors that this page uses cookies to Yes.

  7. In the left pane, click Choose publishing method. You can publish to your Sitecore site and you can embed or publish to a WordPress site.

  8. In the left pane, click Summary, and review the overview of your landing page. When you are finished, you can either publish your landing page immediately by clicking Publish, or you can save your changes for later by clicking Save & exit.
