Clustering and geographic distribution

Version:

Clusters can help you with geographic distribution of Content Delivery instances. The following scenario shows two clusters of Content Delivery instances:

Illustration showing two Content Delivery clusters in a Sitecore 9.0 or 9.1 configuration with local Core databases.

Be aware of the following:

  • Each cluster has its own dedicated session state provider.

  • Each cluster has its own dedicated Web database. This can either be achieved by publishing to multiple targets or by replication.

  • Each cluster must has its own dedicated Core database, When you set up a new cluster, you can copy the Core database from your existing cluster to get started.

    Note

We do not recommend that you manage extranet users in multiple Core databases.
