Scaling and configuring the Core database

All core roles (Content Management, Content Delivery, xDB Processing, xDB Reporting) require access to a Core database.
If you have multiple Content Delivery clusters, consider:

Dedicating a Core database to each cluster.

Managing extranet users in a separate system.
Note
Replication of the Core database is not officially supported. Refer to the Support for SQL Server scaling features knowledge base article for information about supported SQL scaling features.
