Inventory and static bundles

Current version: 9.0
Note

The bundling feature is supported in Sitecore XC version 9.0.3 and later.

You do not manage the inventory of a static product bundle.  The availability of a static bundle is based on the availability of its constituent sellable items.

If the required stock count for a bundled item is not available, then the bundle itself is out of stock.

For example, consider a static bundle composed of the following items:

  • Sellable item A - Quantity required in bundle : 2

  • Sellable item B - Quantity required in bundle : 1

  • Sellable item C - Quantity required in bundle : 1

If the quantity on hand for sellable item A is less than 2, or the quantity on hand for item B or C is less than 1, then the bundle itself is considered as out of stock.

A product bundle is considered as  preorderable or backorderable when at least one of its constituent sellable items is configured with the preorderable or backorderable option enabled.  The availability date of a preorderable or backorderable bundle is based on the latest availability date of its preorderable or backorderable constituent items.

Note

Preorder and backorder functionality is not fully implemented in this release.

For example, a product bundle that is composed of the following items is available for preorder and its availability date is December 2 2020.

  • Sellable item A - Quantity: 2

  • Sellable item B - Quantity: 0 - Inventory shows as preorderable, with an availability date of December 2, 2020.

  • Sellable item C - Quantity 0 - Inventory shows as preorderable with an availability date of June 2, 2020.

  • Sellable item C - Quantity: 1
