Boost products by attribute in a preview search widget
Sitecore Discover widgets display products based on user-defined or context-driven queries. You might want to present certain products before others in case of excess inventory or a promotion. The following procedure describes how you can boost products with a particular attribute value, ahead of other products that meet the search criteria.
To boost products by attribute in a preview search widget:

In the Customer Engagement Console (CEC), on the menu bar, click Widgets.

On the Widgets tab, click the name of the preview search widget you want to open.

On the Widget Variations tab, click Add Variation, enter an easy to identify name for the new variation, and click Save.
NoteIf you want to make this variation the default widget variation, turn on the Make this as a default variation switch.

On the Rules tab, click Add Rule.

On the menu bar, click Merchandising.

In the left pane of the Merchandising page, click the Boost Rules tab.

Click Add attribute, select an attribute from the list and in the operator drop-down menu, click Is.

To set the attribute value, in the text box, enter an appropriate value and click Save.

Click Publish.
