Apply a condition to a web experiment
You can apply a condition to an experiment to filter the audience based on real-time visitor behavior.
For example, you can add a condition to filter an experiment using visitors' geolocation. When you add the condition, you select the region and determine whether you want the experiment to run for all visitors currently in or not in the region, as shown below:
To add a condition:
-
On the experiment builder, click the Filter tile.
Additional fields display.
-
Click Add filter.
-
In the Filter pane, click Add condition.
-
In the Select a condition pane, click next to the condition you want to apply. You can either apply an out-of-the box condition or a custom condition that a developer configured for your organization.
CautionNot all conditions are compatible with web experiments. This is because some conditions contain parameters that are only designed to work with certain types of experiments. If you want to apply an out-of-the-box condition, we recommend that you first check whether the condition is compatible with the web experiment.
-
Complete any or all fields on the condition and click Save.
The experiment will only run for visitors whose real-time behaviors match what's defined in the condition.
TipYou can apply a segment to filter the visitors who see the experiment, based on segment membership.
