Boost or exclude facets

After you configure the facet and extract facet values, you might want to boost some facet values to the top of the list or exclude (blacklist) some facet values.

To boost or exclude a facet value:

  1. On the menu bar, click Administration > Domain Setting > Feature Configuration.

  2. Click Facets, and on the Facets page, next to the facet for which you want to boost or exclude values, click Edit.

  3. Next to Boost list, click Edit.

    The boost/exclude editor opens.

  4. To boost facet values, in the Values section, click boost next to the facet values you want to boost.

    Note

    If you boost more than one value, you can optionally specify the order of those values in the Preferred values on top section of the editor.

  5. To exclude facet values, in the Values section, click exclude next to the facet values you want to exclude.

  6. Click Save.

  7. Click Save, then click Publish. Confirm the action when prompted.

  8. To see your changes, reindex all sources that extract values for the attribute that this facet is based on.

A way to increase the relevance of the item or the group of items by making them appear higher in the results list. You can use this to improve the visibility of certain content.

A way to exclude an item or a group of items from the search results, also called a blocklist. This is useful when you do not want to show certain items on a certain website or for specific visitors.
