Tracking the actions of a website visitor

Track the actions of your site visitors

You must identify your website visitors if you want to create automation triggers based on the actions that take place on your website. To do this, you can insert our JS tracking code into the sections of your website where you want to monitor visitor actions. Some CMS applications only require a tracking ID.

Warning

To track a website visitor's actions, the Identify event must be triggered before any other events.

For the Identify events to fire using JS tracking code:

  • We require you to Add the “Identify" code before any event.

For the Identify events to fire using the Plugin, the recipient will need to fulfil any of the below:

  • The recipient reaches your website through a link inside your newsletter.

  • The recipient adds their email address to a subscription form on your website.

  • The recipients registers an account on your website.

  • The recipient logs in to your website.

By placing the provided tracking code in the Head HTML tag of your page, or using a plugin to do so, you'll be able to identify visitors and engage with them using Moosend automations with ease.
