Deprecated integration methods

This topic describes the deprecation of the following integration methods and how they affect your integration:

Integrate with Discover runtime JS

Sitecore has deprecated integration with Discover runtime JS. Service will be limited to existing integrations.

We will continue to service current integrations as listed:

  • You can create or update widgets, pages, widget variations, and widget variation rules for merchandising in the Customer Engagement Console (CEC).

  • You can update your catalog and products using the Product feed and Incremental APIs.

  • The current code base for Discover runtime JS will be maintained and serviced.

  • Features will not be updated or added to reflect Discover JS SDK and Discover API releases.

  • You can add, create, and host new webpages with Discover runtime JS for your pages and widgets in the CEC.

We recommend that you use the Sitecore Discover JS SDK to integrate your website or the Discover API for a website or application integration.

Integrate pages hosted with Discover

Sitecore has deprecated hosting pages with Discover. We will not host pages and style sheets for new customers.

We will continue to host and service all pages currently hosted with us as listed:

  • You can create or update widgets, pages, widget variations, and widget variation rules for merchandising in the CEC.

  • You can update your catalog and products using the Product feed and Incremental APIs.

  • Pages will continue to be generated when catalog is updated. You can create new categories and facets.

  • Reverse proxies and redirects will be honored. Deprecation does not affect them.

  • To update templates and stylesheets, visit the CEC.

  • Hosted pages are populated using Discover runtime JS which has also been deprecated. We will not add or update features to reflect Discover JS SDK and Discover API releases.

  • Using features from Discover JS SDK or Discover API releases can result in page generation failure or runtime errors.

We recommend that you use the Discover JS SDK to integrate your website or the Discover API for a website or application integration.
