Ignoring testing events in Discover analytics

When you run internal or performance tests on your site, there are events that can potentially affect the analytics.

For example, if as part of testing, you place an order on your site, that event can contribute to the computation of revenue in Discover analytics. When you place an order, the action triggers an order_confirm event that contains details about the products ordered and the price details. Discover tracks this event and uses the information to compute the revenue and to report on it.

To ignore Discover events generated triggered for the purpose of internal or performance testing:

  • Include the following header in your request before sending:

    RequestResponse
    x-rfk-test: 15

When you include this header in your request during testing, Discover adds the event to a blacklist, and ignores the traffic when computing the site analytics. As a result, the event does not impact your site analytics.
