Visitors

In the Visitors section of the Catalog page in the Customer Engagement Console (CEC), you can use visitor IDs to look up and view information about your site visitors or delete them from the Sitecore Discover system.

The Visitors section contains two tabs: the Visitor Lookup tab and the CCPA/GDPR deletion requests tab.

The Visitor Lookup tab

You can view information about visitor behavior on your site on the Visitor Lookup tab. You can do this using a temporary ID stored as a cookie, such as a UUID, or, if available, a persistent value such as CID, EID, or email address.

The information you can view here is used by Sitecore Discover to personalize product recommendations and includes the following:

  • A list of actions that the visitor takes on your site such as keyword searches, clicks on product pages, or additions to their cart.

  • A list of visitor affinities for different product categories, brands, colors, and so on.

Note

The visitor section does not contain any personally identifying information.

The CCPA/GDPR deletion requests tab

You can delete a single visitor directly from the Visitor lookup tab, but if you need to delete multiple visitors, you can do so on the CCPA/GDPR deletion requests tab.

All deletion requests, along with their status, are displayed on this page.
