Discovering apps in the public Marketplace

The public Marketplace enables every Sitecore Cloud Portal organization to discover public Marketplace applications built by Sitecore and its trusted partners. All organization team members can view the available apps, app details, and the app creator's developer profile. Organization admins and owners can install apps for their organization, and then grant team members app access. Then, team members with app access can start using the Marketplace app.

Note

Unlike public apps, custom apps are not listed in the public Marketplace.

Find apps

To find public Marketplace apps:

  1. In the Cloud Portal, click Marketplace. A list of public apps appears.

    By default, apps are listed by publication date, with the most recent appearing first.

  2. Optionally, to sort, search, or filter apps:

    • Sort - click the chevron to the right of the search bar. You can sort apps by publication date or by name, and change the sort order.

    • Search - click the Search bar, and then start typing a part of the app name.

    • Filter - click one or more check boxes in the Filters section. You can filter by app categories, the app creator, and the app's financial model.

      The filters you apply appear under the Search bar, where you can clear each filter individually or Clear all.

View app details

After finding the app you're interested in, you can view its details.

To view the details of a public app:

  • In the Cloud Portal, click Marketplace, and then the app you want to view details for. The app details page appears.

    The page lists, for example, the app description, screenshots, data usage and AI usage disclosures, and links to app resources such as its privacy policy and terms and conditions.

    You can also click the developer's name to view the developer's profile, including all the public apps created by the developer.

View a developer profile

The developer profile lets you read more about the developer of a Marketplace app and view all the developer's public apps.

To view a developer profile:

  1. In the Cloud Portal, click Marketplace. A list of public apps appears.

  2. On an app card, click the developer's name. The developer profile appears.

Install an app

If you're an organization admin or owner, you can install public Marketplace apps in your organization, then authorize team members to use the apps.

To install a public app:

  1. In the Cloud Portal, click Marketplace, and then the app you want to install in your organization.

  2. On the app details page, click Install.

  3. In the Install modal, depending on the app configuration:

    • If the App availability modal appears, select at least one environment where you want to install the app.

      You can change this selection any time after installation, by clicking My apps > More actions > Update installation options for the app you want to change environments for.

    • Review any permissions required by the app.

  4. To confirm your choice, click Install.

The app is now installed in your organization. After installation, organization admins and owners can access the Marketplace app, but organization users cannot. Admins and owners can grant app access to organization users so users can find and start using the app.
