View site analytics
The Site analytics homepage provides you with metrics on real-time site traffic to make data-driven decisions based on changing trends in visitor behavior. The real-time metrics update every minute with new data.
You can view site analytics to do the following:
-
Easily identify positive and negative trends in visitor behavior including visitor count, session count, average session duration, and bounce rate.
-
View line graphs of visitor and page view metrics for a selected time period, with interactive data points.
-
Access an interactive heatmap grid to see when your site has the most visitor traffic.
-
View the five most popular browsers, operating systems, and countries from which your visitor sessions originate, and quickly identify positive and negative trends.
-
Access an interactive bar chart of the ten most popular sources from which your site traffic originates, and easily recognize positive and negative trends.
The data set from which site analytics are calculated is based on the past 60 days. This enables you to view data for the past 30 days, and see upward and downward trends in comparison to the preceding 30 days. Once data reaches 60 days, it is no longer stored and is not available in site analytics.
Site analytics are calculated from aggregated data that is derived from session data. The data limits that pertain to decisioning and audiences do not pertain to site analytics.
Filters
Before you start viewing data, ensure you set the desired filters. Use the filters in Site analytics to select the site and time period to display data for.
-
Point of Sale - apply this filter to view data for a specific point of sale (POS). Each POS that your organization has added to the tenant displays as a filter for selection.
-
Time period - apply this filter to view data for a specific time period. The default view shows site analytics for the past week, including today. After you select a time period, the site analytics data refreshes. The data continues to refresh every minute. The downward and upward trends also refresh to show data compared to the new time period you selected.
Select one of the following options:
-
1 Hour - Last 60 minutes from this moment in time
-
3 Hour - Last twelve intervals of 15 minutes
-
1 Day - Last 24 hours
-
1 Week - Last week, including today
-
2 Weeks - Last two weeks, including today
-
1 Month - Last month, including today
-
Overview metrics
Overview metrics provide data for the selected site and time period filters. This overview displays analytics for the selected time period, including today. An upward or downward trend for the selected time period displays in comparison to the previous time period. A green arrow indicates a positive trend and a red arrow indicates a negative trend.
For example, if you select 2 Weeks, the overview displays analytics for the last two weeks, including today's data, and the downward and upward trends show a negative or positive trend in comparison to the previous 2 weeks.
The overview metrics display the following data:
-
Guests - number of all identified and unidentified guests. Identified guests are only counted once.
-
Average time on site - average session time of all identified and unidentified guests. This is the total duration of all sessions divided by the number of sessions. This displays in the
MM:SS
format. -
Sessions - number of sessions of all identified and unidentified guests.
-
Bounce rate - percentage of sessions with a single page view. A downward trend is positive and displays a green arrow. An upward trend is negative and displays a red arrow. Retail sites typically consider an increase in bounce rate as negative unless the intended call to action is to view a single page, such as reading a blog.
Graphs
You can view a line graph for overall views and one for guests. Click the Views or Guests option at the top to view each graph. The values on the x axis display for the selected time period.
The line graphs only display complete data points. This means that if you select 2 Weeks for time period, you'll see data for the last fourteen days, excluding today's data because it's not yet complete.
