Navigate the interface
You can fine-tune your Sitecore Search implementation without needing a developer to help you along the way. Depending which role and permissions you've been assigned, you might not have access to all areas of functionality of the Sitecore Search interface, also known as the Customer Engagement Console (CEC).
You can use the menu bar on the left of the application to access the following sections:

Site performance |
The homepage, which provides an overall view on site performance analytics. |

Pages |
Contains your pages with associated widgets, which display search results. Every implementation builds on preconfigured pages (for example, the search results page). |

Widgets |
Contains widgets which are dynamic components or configurations that render search experiences. |

Analytics |
Gives access to various reports that provide insight into the performance of your implementation, including configuration, searchable content collections, and search functionality. |

Global resources |
Lets you set up and configure your system. All widgets are based on the global widget that you can configure in this section. |

Content collection |
Gives you access to all your indexed content and visitors. |
|
Sources |
Lets you define configurations to index searchable content in different formats and from different locations. In a source, you can configure extractors for metadata and create index documents. |
|
Developer resources |
Provides access to tools for developers for learning about, working with, and testing services. |
|
Administration |
Provides access to administrative tools to manage domains and users. |
