Working with the Customer Engagement Console

The Customer Engagement Console (CEC) provides content strategists, administrators and developers a single point of access to the various tools and controls required to interact with the Search system. This topic provides a brief description of each functional area of the CEC.

The CEC is divided into multiple functional areas that you access using the menu bar located on the left of every CEC page.

The functional areas of the CEC are:

  • or Site performance - the CEC home page. Provides useful analytics data about your site performance. This is the home page displayed when you first log in to the CEC.

  • or Pages - contains your Search powered pages. Pages are containers to which you add widgets that display results. Every Search implementation typically has at least a search results page with a search results widget.

  • or Widgets - the Search widgets workbench. Widgets in the CEC are headless and do not refer to material web UI components. They are dynamic components that encapsulate search or recommendation experiences. They are a logical grouping of functionality for presenting search results.

  • or Analytics - gives access to various reports that provide insight into the performance of your Search implementation, including configuration, content catalog, and search functionality overall.

  • or Global resources - an area where you set up and configure your system globally. All widgets are built on top the Global widget which you can configure in this section.

  • or Content collection - lets you explore data about your content and site visitors.

  • Plug-solid.svg. Sources - lets you configure connectors to extract and index searchable content.

  • or Developer resources - provides access to tools for developers to learn about, work with, and test our services.

  • or Administration - provides access to various administrative tools that you use to manage users access to your Search domains.
