Create a connection from Sitecore Connect to Sitecore Send

To create a connection to Sitecore Send, you first need to create a project in Sitecore Connect. You then choose Sitecore Send as the app you want to connect to, and you set up the connection:

  1. Open Sitecore Connect. In the left-hand menu, click . 

  2. On the Projects page, click Create project. 

  3. In the New project dialog, enter a name and description for your project, then click Create project. 

  4. On the project page of your new project, click Create, then click Connection.

  5. On the New connection page, click Sitecore Send. 

  6. Fill in the fields: 

    • Connection name – enter a name. 

    • Location – enter the project name. 

    • Api Key - paste the API key. For information on how to get the key, see Get the API key below. 

    • Plugin Secret Key – paste the plugin secret key. For information on how to get the key, see Get the plugin secret key below.

  7. Click Connect. 

You can now create a recipe.

Get the API key

An API key is a unique key that enables you to integrate Sitecore Send with your other apps.

To get your API key: 

  1. In Sitecore Send, click More > Settings. 

  2. Click the API key tab. If you’re entering this tab for the first time, click Generate new Api key. 

  3. Click Copy.

Get the plugin secret key

A plugin secret key is a unique encryption key that enables you to integrate Sitecore Send with your other apps.

To get your plugin secret key: 

  1. In Sitecore Send, click More > Settings. 

  2. Click the Plugin secret key tab. If you’re entering this tab for the first time, click Generate new plugin secret key. 

  3. Click Copy.

Note

The generated plugin secret key is only displayed once, and you must use the same key for all your app connections.

Therefore, if you want to use the key to connect to multiple apps, we recommend that you save the key locally.
