The Link field types
Link field types let users enter links to items, external URLs, anchors, email addresses, and JavaScript functions. The following table lists the available Link field types.
| Link field type | Description |
|---|---|
| General link with search | Use to search for and create a link to an item that is stored anywhere in the content tree. |
| Droplink | Lets users select a single item from the list specified by the Source property of the field using a drop-down list. |
| Droptree | Lets users select a descendant of the item specified by the Source property of the field. |
| General link | Lets users link to an item, an URL, an anchor, an email address, or a JavaScript function (when using the Content Editor to configure the field). |
