Edit an entity

After creating an entity in Search, you can change the entity's name and attribute template settings.

Important

Renaming a custom entity can result in the loss of related attributes and configurations, including widget rules, for that entity.

To edit an entity:

  1. On the menu bar, click Administration > Domain Settings.

  2. On the General Settings tab, click Entities.

  3. On the Entities card, click Edit.

  4. On the left side of the page, click the entity you want to edit.

  5. To change the name of the entity, in the Enter entity name field, click , then enter the new name.

    Note

You can't edit the title for the default entities such as the Content entity.

  6. To change the base attributes for this entity, in the Attribute Template drop-down menu, select an option. The base attributes are displayed below, in the Attributes section, and differ depending on which template you select.

  7. Click Save.

  8. To publish the changes, click Publish.
