Look for an item

The Content Collection page of Sitecore Search has a section for every entity in your implementation. Clicking on an entity section opens a page with a table exclusively listing all content items of the selected entity type. You can browse through the list page by page. You can also access analytics about the entity's performance.

Important

The Content Collection page only displays the first 10 thousand items. You can, however, search through the entire collection of indexed content even if it exceeds 10 thousand items.

Customize display of items

To customize the paginated table of an entity type:

  1. On the menu bar, click Content Collection, then click the section for the entity type.

  2. On the Content Browser tab, in the top-right corner of the table, to open the dialog to arrange column, click Columns.

  3. To add a column, in the More columns list, click Add on a column item.

  4. To remove a displayed column, in the Arrange columns list, click Remove on a column item.

  5. To reset list to default, click Restore default.

  6. To clear the list of displayed columns, click Clear columns.

  7. To accept list of columns, click Apply, else click Cancel.

Note

The columns available for display in the paginated table, are set by the Administrator in the Domain settings section.

Look for an item

To search for a content item of a particular entity type, you can open the entity collection and use a keyword or an identifier (ID).

For example, you can use this functionality to:

  • See if a content item of the entity type is available when you are implementing a content strategy.

  • Retrieve the ID for a content item when you are creating rules.

  • View an entity's dataset.

The basic details page lists attributes associated with the content item.

  5. To display content attributes used for specific features. Click Attribute Filters, then select one or more check boxes corresponding to the features of interest.
