Import recipients


How to import contacts from other sources.

Sitecore Send lets you import contacts from files, Google, and/or Salesforce by using a preset bulk import action.

To import a contact list:

  1. On the Sitecore Send dashboard, click Account, Email lists.

  2. Click the email list that you want to add contacts to.

  3. On the menu on the left, click Perform bulk actions.

  4. Navigate to Import Members into List and click Select.

  5. Click one of the following tiles and then click Select:

    • CSV /TXT File

    • Excel File

    • Paste Text

    • Google Contacts Plugin (also available as plugin)

    • Salesforce plugin

  6. On the Data selection tab, click Browse and select the file that you want to import.

    If you selected the Paste Text option, paste your list.

    If you selected the Google Contacts Plugin or Salesforce plugin option, you can decide to filter the list.


    The maximum import size for CSV, TXT, and Excel files is 40 MB.

  7. If you have the consent from all subscribers on the list through the double opt-in process, select the Yes, add them as verified, I do have consent from these members check box and click Next.

  8. On the Data mapping tab, click each drop-down list and select the custom field that fits best. If you want to map a specific column to a field, set Map to On and click Next.

    If you have not mapped all the fields, a notification appears asking if you want to ignore any columns that remain unmapped. Click Ignore and continue.

  9. On the Notification tab, select if and how you want to be notified after the import process has been completed and then click Import. A pop-up message informs you that your requested import operation has been successfully queued. To view a report of your import's progress, click Go there.
