Generate long-form content using brainstorming

Note

Brand Assistant is only available with Stream Premium. To learn more or discuss your options, contact your Account Manager.

The brainstorming feature in Brand Assistant supports marketers with creative ideation and long-form content generation. It's particularly useful for creating longer, in-depth pieces of content, such as blog posts and articles, that align with the brand's voice and identity.

When you enter a prompt and click the Brainstorming option, the Brand Assistant uses a chain-of-thought process to explain its reasoning and guide the response. It activates a sequence of AI agents to perform specific tasks in order, starting with creating an outline and generating questions to finally generating a comprehensive response.

To generate long-form content using brainstorming:

  1. Log in to the Sitecore Cloud Portal and open the Stream app.

  2. In the Stream navigation menu, click Assistant.

  3. Select your brand kit. If you have multiple brand kits, ensure you choose the correct one for accurate results.

  4. Optionally, to choose which sources you want the AI to use, in the top-right corner, click Settings and in the Tool configuration dialog, select Knowledge & web, Knowledge search, or Web search.

The default is Knowledge & web.

  5. In the chat field, enter your prompt. Clear, detailed prompts help the Brand Assistant generate relevant answers.

    Tip

For the best results, enter prompts in any supported language.

  6. To enable brainstorming, click Tools and then click Brainstorming.

    Click Tools and select Brainstorming.

When enabled, Brainstorming is displayed in the chat field.

After selecting Brainstorming, it is displayed in the chat field.

After submitting your prompt, the Brand Assistant might take a few minutes to generate a response, as each AI agent completes its task sequentially.

When the process is complete, a response is generated.

Understanding the generated response

Note

The Brand Assistant strives for accuracy but it might occasionally generate incorrect responses. Always verify the information provided.

Each response generated by the Brand Assistant from a brainstorming session includes the following elements:

The generated response includes a summary, an artifact, details of the thinking process, sources, and follow-up questions.
  1. Thinking - shows how the Brand Assistant generated the response. Click to expand or collapse this section, and view details of the chain-of-thought process, including the specific steps completed or in progress, from creating an outline to generating the final response.

  2. Response - the main answer generated from brainstorming. The response includes a summary and an artifact - a standalone, editable content block that appears in the left-hand pane with a title, icon, and version label (v1). The artifact brings together all the information retrieved by the Brand Assistant, providing a longer and more comprehensive answer.

    Note

You can view, copy, refine, or export the artifact in the right-hand pane as needed.

  3. Suggested follow-up questions - click to view a list of related questions or prompts to continue the conversation or explore more topics.

  4. Sources - click to expand and view the sources used to generate the content. This might include knowledge and web sources.

Refining the generated response

If the Brand Assistant's response isn't what you expected, try:

  • Rephrasing your prompt.

  • Adding more detail or context.

  • Clarifying your request.

Then, regenerate the response for better results.

Note

If the Brand Assistant isn’t generating accurate or on-brand content, it's often due to incomplete or inaccurate brand documents. See Troubleshooting for guidance.

When an artifact is created with the brainstorming option, you can refine the content in two ways:

  • Edit manually - in the right pane, locate the text you want to change. Make edits inline, highlight, rewrite, or delete.

Edit the generated artifact directly in the right-hand pane.
  • Use Quick Actions - at the bottom of the artifact, select built-in options to simplify, rephrase, lengthen, or shorten content.

Refine the generated artifact using Quick Actions.

After editing the artifact, click to save your changes. The Brand Assistant will create a new version, such as v2 and v3 while preserving previous versions. Use the version drop-down menu in the right pane to switch between versions.

Use the drop-down menu to switch between artifact content versions.
