Convert a web crawler to an advanced web crawler
A web crawler source usually offers all the features you need to create a source for most basic requirements. However, during configuration or after you publish the source, you might realize that you need a web crawler with additional features. In this case, we recommend that you convert the web crawler source to an advanced web crawler source. This way, you do not lose configurations and you only need to configure settings that are specific to the advanced web crawler.
When you convert a web crawler to an advanced web crawler, the source ID remains the same.
Converting a web crawler to an advanced web crawler is a one-way change. You cannot convert an advanced web crawler to a web crawler.
To convert a web crawler to an advanced web crawler:

Click the web crawler source you want to convert to an advanced web crawler.

In the left pane, click General then, in the General section, click
Edit. -
In the CONNECTOR drop-down list, click Web Crawler (Advanced).

Click Save.

To make your change take effect, click Publish.

In the dialog that asks you to confirm whether you want to publish the source, click Publish.
Sitecore Search republishes the source and rescans content.
