Create a category listing page

A category listing page displays products of the same category by mapping the category's ID with the Product entity's category ID. The mapping is done in your domain's source configuration using aggregate tags. Contact support if you have questions about this.

Note

You can only create a category listing page if you have Category configured for your domain.

To create a category listing page:

  1. On the main menu, click Pages > Create Page > Category Listing Page.

  2. On the Setup Page tab, fill in the Page Name and Page Variation Name fields, then click Next.

  3. On the Attribute and URL page, the Customer Category Identifier (CCID) of the category is mapped to the product’s corresponding attribute.

Based on the chosen URL type, the Automated Format field displays how the URL appears for the category listing page.

    • Fixed Customer Category Identifier URL - in the Space Substitute field, specify how multiword categories appear in the URL. For example, a dash (-) means that a category such as dog food appears as dog-food in the URL.

    • Hierarchical Customer Category Identifier URL – in the Hierarchical Separator field, specify how hierarchical categories appear in the URL. For example, a slash (/) means a category called t-shirts under another category called clothing, appears as clothing/t-shirts in the URL.

      Note

To create category listing pages for a subset of your categories, turn on the Select attribute values manually switch. To avoid using the Automated Format for the URL, turn on the Customize URL format switch and edit the value.

  4. When you have finished configuring the URL pattern, click Next.

  5. (Optional) To apply hard filters to your page:

    • On the Hard Filters page, click Add Hard Filter then, in the drop-down list, select the filter you want to apply.

    • In the Value field, enter the value you want to apply to the filter.

      Note

Hard filters directly target an entity’s attribute. You can use hard filters to limit page contents by category, price, brand, and so on.

  6. Click Next to review the page setup.

  7. Review the information and click Save.
