Work with widgets

The following procedures describe how to create widgets in Sitecore Search Customer Engagement Console (CEC). New widgets have a variation which is set as Default. You give it a name during widget creation. New widget variations do not have any rules.

Create a search results widget

To create a search results widget:

  1. In the CEC, on the menu bar, click Widgets.

  2. On the Widgets tab, click Add widget.

  3. Click Search results.

  4. Enter or select values for the Widget name, RFK ID, Variation name, and Will be used in form fields, and click Next.

    Note

    Set Will be used in to Common across all pages only if you want to query hook this widget on every page of your site.

  5. To select a recipe, on a recipe card, click Choose and click Next.

  6. In the Widget style drop-down menu, select the appearance layout you want and then click Next.

  7. Review your choices and to complete creating the widget, click Save.

  8. To deploy your new widget, click Publish.

Create a preview search widget

To create a preview search widget:

  1. In the CEC, on the menu bar, click Widgets.

  2. On the Widgets tab, click Add widget.

  3. Click Preview search.

  4. Enter or select values for the Widget name, RFK ID, and Variation name form fields, select Common across all pages in the Will be used in drop down, and click Next.

    Note

    Set Will be used in to Common across all pages only if you want to query hook this widget on every page of your site.

  5. To select a recipe, on a recipe card, click Choose and click Next.

  6. In the Widget style drop-down menu, select the appearance layout you want and then click Next.

  7. Review your choices and to complete creating the widget, click Save.

  8. To deploy your new widget, click Publish.
