Edit an item

You can make temporary or permanent edits to all attributes and their values directly in Sitecore Search, except source, locale, or ID.

Before you begin

You don't have to do this if the source used to create this document is an API push source.

To edit an existing item or index document:

  1. On the menu bar, click Content Collection, then click Content.

  2. To search for an index document, use the search bar. Then, click the item or document you want to edit.

  3. Click Edit .

  4. In the Content Details section, click Edit. This opens the Edit Document Details screen.

  5. Edit the fields you want to change.

    Note

    You cannot edit an index document's source, locale, or ID.

  6. Click Save.

  7. In the Save changes dialog, click either Temporary, to allow changes to be overridden by the next indexing job or Permanent to make them permanent.
