Activate a session trait

When you are ready to make the session trait available for use in Sitecore CDP, you must activate it to change its status from Draft to Active. After a session trait is activated, it cannot be edited. If you need to make changes, you will have to pause an active session trait before editing.

Only team members with a Developer or Admin role in Sitecore Cloud Portal can activate a session trait.

To activate a session trait:

  1. Open the session trait and in the top-right corner, click Activate.

  2. In the confirmation dialog, click Activate. This action changes the status of the session trait to Active and makes it available for use across all customer web sessions. Calculations are performed only after the session ends and the resulting values are stored in the customer's guest profile for future use, for example in creating segments and audience exports.

Once the session trait is activated, you can track its successful and failed executions by reopening it and viewing the statistics on the Activity tab.
